Multiple Roll Bets For Those Who Take Risks
Other than single roll bets that have results on just one roll of dice, multiple roll bets derive their results after several rolls. A word of caution is that these bets usually have a huge house edge. The payoffs are quite notable. These multiple roll bets are for such players who are brave enough to take risks (or at least know what they're doing).
Big 6: It is a multiple roll bet that wagers a 6 will be rolled before a 7. This bet would pay even money. The house edge for this bet is 9.09%.
Big 8: This multiple roll bet is essentially the same as the Big 6. But this wagers an 8 will be rolled before a 7.
Buy bets This multiple roll bet is the same as a place bet with a different payoff. It's called a buy bet because the players "buy" any of the points. This means that players bet that either 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10 will be come up before a 7. A buy requires a 5% commission. This bet would a player at fair odds. Some casinos would only apply this commission on a buy bet that wins. Remember that if the commission is rounded down, a player can cut down the house edge for a commission of $1 by simply betting just under $40.
Next multiple roll bet is the Hard Ways bet. There are four different kinds of hard ways bets: hard 4, hard 6, hard 8, and hard 10. When making this bet a player is wagering that a pair of 2's, a pair of 3's, a pair of 4's, or a pair of 5's will be rolled before a 7. It's called the "hard way" because it's harder to roll two 2's or 3's etc. than getting them in another way (3 and 1 for instance for a 4). Casinos usually pay 7-1 on a hard 4 or 10, the house edge placed at 11.11%. Casinos would pay 9-1 on a hard 6 or 8 with house edge being at 9.09%. Some casinos have different rates.
The lay bet is a multiple roll bet that is essentially the opposite of the buy bet . It is a wager that a 7 will be rolled before the number the player placed his bet on (usually placed on 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10). Players pay a 5% commission on possible winnings. Like the buy bet the commission for this multiple roll bet is adjusted according to the unit/number that comes up. This is done so that fraction dollar payouts would not turn out. Fair odds for the payout are paid in the following manner: 1 to 2 for 4 and 10, 2 to 3 for 5 and 9, and 5 to 6 for 6 and 8.
Place bet: This multiple roll bet wagers a 4,5,6,8,9, or 10 before a 7. Remember that when place bets win the dealer will give you your winning but your original bet would remain on the table - establishing a new place bet. But a player can request that the original bet be returned.
The huge house edge often becomes a turn off for these multiple roll bets. But for those who would like to gamble or are adventurous and get the thrill (or simply just want to have all bases covered) these bets certainly take the cake.
